    Tremoundously Great

This is my first time building a pc and I caught this baby on a good ebay sale. At idle it's very quiet, and only occasionally starts to go a little blowy noisy while I'm playing at higher fps (144) games. The noise is barely noticeable when i have my headphones on, but is clearly audible while I'm using speakers. Love this card and really happy with it!

  • Great Deal!

I purchased this as I saw that it performs on par with many games to the 1080. I wanted to get the Nvidia 2080 as a long time Nvidia user, but I have a dual boot system MacOS/Win10 - I had to use an AMD card as Nvidia has drivers for macOS. I luckily found a Black Friday deal on Newegg sling the Vega 64 for $399! So far So good, played OW at high settings at 3440x1440 and it ran quiet at 125-150ish fps, but I do have an open chassis. On Mojave it was recognized instantly, but the fan was noisy, with Subnautica (a game) it stutters a little, I’ll have to dig into forums to resolve that. Perhaps because my system is a hackintosh? I don’t know. I also had stuttering with my Nvidia 1070 playing forte nite. I have a 8700k (6-core) The Adrenaline software or the GPU control app is very well ...

  • The Sapphire Vega 64 works on my MAC 2012

After purchasing several different brands, I almost gave up on the Vega 64. Either noise levels were ridiculously high or not all the ports worked. I have three 4K monitors. This one works beautifully. I had some fan noise issues that was resolved with a fan control text I downloaded. Quiet even when rendering 4K video using Adobe Premiere. Also works well under Windows 10. The price of $400 was much lower than other brands. I had a Nvidia GTX 1070 FE which I love but it does not work with Mojave.

  • Know your PSU

This card is great. I found that the card wasn’t stable at all immediately after installation. I did some looking around, and found that it’s important for the power cables to be on separate output groups on the psu. I originally had both plugged into the pci output group, but the card is really sensitive. I ended up separating the power lines between separate groups on the psu, and it’s stable now. It’s got a blower, and can be a bit noisy under load. That’s the nature of a blower, and isn’t a big deal. The price for performance was great.

  • Great GPU for the price

This is a high performance GPU with a blower-style fan. For the price I’m very happy with my purchase because this card usually retails for closer to 500. The performance is equivalent to a GTX 1080, and it’s natively supported by Mac OS in MacBooks as part of a EGPU enclosure unlike the GTX 1080. The only downside is that it has a blower-style cooler which will be louder under load than an aftermarket 2 or 3 fan design, and allows for less over-clocking headroom. At stock speeds however it is not too loud, and I don’t think an aftermarket cooler is needed on this card as long as you don’t plan on overclocking, so don’t let the stock cooler dissuade you from this card of the price is right.
